Inter House Drawing Competition

It`s a reminder for those students who have registered their name for  Inter house drawing competition which is tomorrow  2nd July 2013.

Kindly send  students with their material from home as nothing will be provided from the school, except for sheets.

Following are the grade categories along with specified material to be used-:

Dear Parent,

Students have been  given a home work to make Power point presentation on the unit of photography which includes a write up for each photograph. They have to select 10 pictures from the photographs they had taken in the zoo.  They have to submit this PPT  on 25/2/13 Day 2 Monday. 

Note:We request parents not to make PPT for them, It`s highly recommended that they do it on their own. You can guide them if they require any help. Bring PPT in pen drive and submit.

In tuning in photo`s were projected on the LCD and students were asked to give answers to questions framed for those photographs. They attended a workshop taken by Mr.Saurabh Desai a professional photographer in which they learned basics of photography. Then they were taken on a school tour to know their subject well for which they will be taking photographs. Learners took photographs in the school campus and then were taken to Zoo to take photographs of flowers, insects, birds and animals. They were asked to select best 10 photos from the one they have taken and then make a PPT for the same as a summative assessment.At last learners will be asked to write their reflection for this unit.

Students were provided rulers and chalks and were asked to draw anything on the floor using ruler. Continuing this unit we taught them to draw square, rectangle and triangle in different sizes. Further students were taught to draw circle with the help of compass.  They composed creative pattern using rangometry.

Students will be now introduced to geometrical style paintings done by different artist and then will be ask to make a modern art painting using different geometrical shapes and tools as a part of their summative assessment.

  • Tuning In: Students were distributed in groups by grouping strategy of LP cards. There were 5 activity corners, each with different materials (mount board, colored wooden blocks, wooden blocks, plastic blocks and sim cards). Using grouping strategy of LP cards 5 groups were made of 3 students each. Students were then asked to make a 3D model by using the material kept on the respective corner.
  • Making simple house using architectural origami.
  • Start working on final dioramas in groups. (Grouping strategy used-: jigsaw puzzle)
  • Field Visit to South Gujarat University, Architectural department.

  • Tuning In: Mozart music was played and students were asked to move around in the three different corners made in class. One corner was having poster of awareness, second poster of information and third poster of advertisement. Students were asked to select one corner and stand as soon as the music stops. They were given colorful post it in which they were asked to write why they like the picture in the corner where they stood. Discuss about posters and asking them to observe different types of posters while going back home.
  • Learning different types of posters.
    • Posters of awareness-: Save electricity, save trees, save water etc.
    • Posters of information-: Diwali mela, Book Fair, Handicraft Fair etc.
    • Posters of advertisements-: Opening of a new mall, advertisement of a toy shop.
  • Assessment-: Designing any one type of poster on a given topic.

Dear Parents,
We request you to send waste plastic bottles to school. You can send bottles of any sizes, color and shape. Kindly send the bottles till 27th September 2012. We need these bottles for creative mela. We will appreciate your enthusiastic contribution.

Inter school Drawing competition was held on 18th August 2012 at fountainhead School, 12 Schools actively participated  including our school. It was a awesome experience of knowing children’s imaginations.

The Panel of Judges was composed of art experts. (Mr. Kurnal Zaveri ,Full time faculty in Interior Design department and visiting faculty in Fine Arts in VNSGU and Mrs. Priti  Mashruwala ,working as fashion designer since past 17 years. ) The panel was given the complete authority and their decision was considered final.

Topics were:

Group: 1(Grade 1 to 3)    – Scene of a fair or market.

                                                 -Underwater world.

                                                -What I want to become in future.

Group:2-(Grade 4 to 6)     -Junk food V/S Healthy food

                                                -Pollution (Air, Water, Noise)

                                                -Go Green

Group:3-(Grade7 to 9)     -India in 2050

                                                -Indian Political system

                                                -Cityscapes in one point perspective
