Dear Parents,
Here are the highlights of the week:

  1. Students were busy with the Annual performance practice.
  2. Students completed exercise 11.9 and 11.10 which were based on mean and mode of large and grouped frequency data.
  3. They have done extra Practice in the class on statistics based on word problems of mean.
  4. Students solved their doubts regarding the unit.

Dear Parents,
Lets see through the work done by students in this week:
1. Students explored further about how to analyse the data by finding out the averages that include mean, median, mode, range, quartiles and inter-quartile range of the given discrete data.
2. They have also learnt how to calculate missing sum of the observation or data if the mean and number of observation is given to them.
3. They have completed exercise 11.8 based on the understanding of mean median, mode, range, quartiles and inter-quartile range.
4. Worksheet was given to the students to solve some other questions based on mean related to missing figure in google classroom for their further practice on word problems.

Dear Parents,
Here are the highlights of this week:
1. Students have completed exercise 11.3 related to Grouped discrete data and learned to make Grouped continuous data using inequalities.
2. One example was given in class to practice grouped continuous data as sums related to it was not given in the textbook they refer in class.
3. They learned new way of representing data through Pie Charts, compound bar Chart and line graph and applied their learning in exercise 11.4.

Grade 8_Verve, Zest_Math Highlights of the week_20th January 2017

Dear Parents,

Here are the highlights of the week:

  • This week started with the conclusion of the unit Surds as well we discussed Math UT 6 and discussed other doubts.
  • Next we started with the new unit of “Statistics”. We started this with the discussion of its real life applications, made a chart for same and different types of data. Further discussed Ex 11.1 in the class.
  • Further in Statistics we prepared frequency histogram of given data on graph paper.

Students are requested to carry their graph book, protectors, pencil, other stationary along with notebooks and textbook from next week.

Grade 8_Verve, Zest_Math Highlights of the week_13th January 2017

Dear Parents,

Here are this week’s highlights:

  • We started the week with an activity of Pythagoras Theorem where students suppose to measure as well calculate hypotenuse of different rectangular places in the school. They were given a list of 10 such places and in a group of four they performed this activity. Further we prepared a chart to list down the results.
  • We explained the concept of rationalization of surds and the importance of it. Based on this questions from Ex 1.2 were explained and some questions were done in the class by students.
  • The next topic in Surds was conjugate pairs, we had a discussion in the class what do we mean by this and how to solve questions based on this. Questions from Ex 1.3 were solved in the class.
  • We continued with Ex 1.4 with some extra practice from the worksheet uploaded in google classroom.
  • Students also prepared the charts on real life applications of pythagoras theorem and surds and displayed in the class.

Highlights of the week _ Math_ G 8_ Exuberance, Verve, Vivacity, Zest_ 16th Dec 2016

Dear Parents,

Lets look into the week:

  • We started the week with the last exercise 2.26 from the unit Equations. We discussed few questions in the class and rest questions solved by students as classwork.
  • We have catered the doubts of the unit Equations.
  • As Math Day (which is on 22nd Dec) is approaching, remaining all slots were given as its preparation. We made groups, discussed various categories, rubrics of these categories on how students will be judged and helped students in researching on their chosen topics.

G8_ Exuberance, Vivacity, Verve, Zest_ Math_ Highlights of the Week_ 9/12/2016

Dear Parents,

Here are the highlights of this week:

  1.  We started the week with Ex 2.21 based on simultaneous equations. Students used the prior knowledge of substitution and elimination method taught during Ex 2.20 to solve this exercise. Some questions were solved in the class while rest were given as HW.
  2. Next we started with constructing more complex equations and solving them for one/two variables in Ex 2.22.
  3. We continued this concept in Ex 2.23 also. Most of the questions were solved/discussed in the class and rest were given as HW.
  4. Next concept we took was solving quadratic equations by factorizing. Ex 2.24 was based on this and students used splitting the middle term to factorize and find the solutions. Students learnt the difference that while in linear equation its just one solution of the equation while quadratic equations have two solutions. Students given time to solve questions from this exercise in class , rest all they suppose to complete from home.

Dear Parents,

Here are the highlights of this week:

  1. We have distributed paper 4 and paper 6 of Term 1 and discussed both in the class.
  2. We continued with ex 2.18 related to constructing simple equations and completed the same and rest of the questions were given as homework if not completed.
  3. We started with explanation of constructing the formulae and solved question 1, 4, 6. Rest questions were given to students to solve in the class itself and question 10 will be solved in the next week.
