Silent Rally – Today – 9th April

Silent Rally – Today – 9th April

Dear parents,

The students’ enthusiasm is raging these days so as to put their best foot forward during PYP exhibition. The motive behind this exhibition is to influence/persuade people about making this world a better place to live in. In order to reach out to the masses, we, the Grade-6 team, have organized a ‘silent’ rally today (Tuesday, 9th April 2019) as a part of our action. With reference to the e-mail sent by the team regarding this event, we have received the approval from the respective civil authorities.

Kindly note the following details about the event:-

1)The rally will commence sharp at 5:45 pm from SVNIT college and will take a U-turn from Kargil Chowk, coming back to an end at the starting point. Click here to explore the route of the rally.

2) So as to avoid congestion, the students need to abide by the following time of reporting at Malhar complex, Piplod:-

a) 5:00 PM to 5:15 PM- Conjecture, Progress, Ruminate and Contemplate
b) 5:15 PM to 5:30 PM- Deliberate, Enlighten, Evolve and Excogitate

Kindly note that the students will then be taken away from this spot to SVNIT college by the Homeroom teacher.

3) Students have to report in proper uniform (ID card, school/sports shoes, regular school t-shirt and not house t-shirt). If the student is not found to be in proper uniform, he/she will not be allowed to participate.

4) Car-pooling is highly recommended as traffic at the reporting venue (Malhar complex) might lead to cancellation of the event by the official authorities.

5) In case any child reports to the venue later than 5:30 PM, he/she will not be allowed to be a part of this rally.

6) Kindly leave the venue as soon as you drop your child so as to make space for other parents to drop theirs.

7) Once the rally has culminated, you need to pick up your child from the reporting venue (Malhar complex) as per the following schedule:-

a) 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM- Conjecture, Progress, Ruminate and Contemplate
b) 7:15 PM to 7:30 PM- Deliberate, Enlighten, Evolve and Excogitate

8) Please ensure that you carry the RFID card along. Under no circumstances, you can pick up your child without getting it verified by the teacher.

9) Keeping in mind the weather conditions, students need to carry a water bottle so as to stay hydrated.

10) Please take a note that the reporting venue for both pick-up and drop off is Malhar Complex and not SVNIT college.

11) In case you need assistance about the location of reporting venue, kindly click here. This link will redirect you to google maps location.

12) The banners/posters have been created in school, by the students.

13) This rally has been arranged to spread awareness about the topic selected by the students. Hence, any kind of parent-teacher interaction will not be entertained.

Please note that in any case of traffic jam or congestion, the rally will be canceled by the authorities. Seeking your cooperation.

A lot of efforts and time has been invested to make this event happen. We seek your utmost cooperation to make it successful yet a memorable one for students.

Highlight for Cycle No.31

Highlight for Cycle No.31

Highlights :

The countdown begins ..11 days to go.

Soaring excitement and enthusiasm amongst reflective learners are making noise at FS. The cycle started with students being curious to inquire further about their research work by exploring places, taking interviews and surveys to get an in-depth understanding of their topic. Students looked at the pressing issues from different lenses.

They got an opportunity to select their final medium of expression to influence people and meet their art mentors. Many learners have even stepped out of their comfort zone and have taken an action to spread awareness across the school, locality and the city.

Now they are exhilarated to showcase their performance and geared up for the same.

Cycle 32 is going to be a busy one for these young minds. They will be working for their synthesis in terms of visual aids – displays, charts, models, graphic organizers.

They would also be brushing up their chosen medium of expression to influence and work towards the culmination.

Regards

Grade 6 Team

PYP Exhibition Invitation – 2019

PYP Exhibition Invitation – 2019

Dear Parents,

A significant event in the lives of our Grade 6 students, the PYP Exhibition, is just around the corner. The students have synthesized the essential elements of the PYP and have carried out in-depth research on issues pertaining to personal, local and global significance.

The Central idea of their research is “We can influence people through expressions of our ideas and opinions” under the Transdisciplinary theme, “How we express ourselves.”

On behalf of the students of Grade 6, we cordially invite you to come and feel the influence while our learners express their ideas and opinions to create a better and more sustainable future for us to live in.

AS/PS offerings 2019/2020

AS/PS offerings 2019/2020

Dear Parents,

As you are aware that Fountainhead School offers a variety of arts and sports segments for students to choose in Art and Design and Personal Sports slot, here is the time for the same. Students who wish to change their PS/ AS for the academic year 2019 – 2020 will have to fill the form mentioning their preference. The last date for filling up the form is 12th April, 2019.

In case you wish to continue with the same AS and PS, DO NOT fill the form. We are sending the form to confirm your child’s selection for the academic year 2019-20.

The form will be available at http://parents.fountainheadschools.org/ and the Nucleus Mobile app (through your parents login).

Kindly read the choices available for your child’s grade and then fill the form in consultation with your child. You can submit the form only once. If you want to make changes later or, you can email us at surat@fountainheadschools.org – however that will be possible only if there are seats available.

Points to keep in mind:-

  • Continuing with the same AS & PS is recommended in most cases so that the student gets time to build skills. However, if after discussion with the respective faculty and student, if you wish to change the AS / PS, please change your preference (Your current choice will already be marked in each of the form in the first preference selection.)
  • If you don’t fill the form, we will consider that student wants to continue with the current AS and PS option only.
  • In case there’s oversubscription (more interested students than seats available) then confirmation will be given in the following order:
  1. 1st preference will be given to students who were already doing this AS / PS and have paid    the AS amount by 20th April (for paid options).
  2. In the case of paid AS options, 2nd preference will be given to students who are new to this AS  and have paid the AS amount by 20th April.
  3. For all other cases, if there are more students who have paid as compared to the seats that we have; for e.g. if 10 students are interested, but we have 5 seats for students, then we will do a draw of lots.
    • Visual art is a paid option from the academic year 2019-20 considering the expense of resources used (paints, canvas, frames, exhibition setup costs).

  • AS fee for the paid option is: Gr.3 to 9 Rs. 10000/- Gr10 Rs. 7500/- Gr11-Rs. 5000/-  Gr.12-Rs. 2500/-
  • It is NOT mandatory for Grade 11 and 12 to choose any AS they have an option of either selecting AS from the given options (Cooking, Visual Art and Digital media) or can use the slot for playtime.

  • Where AS fee needs to be paid, it needs be done through Paytm by the June 30 2019 as it will not be included in tuition fee. If not paid by then, the student will not be allowed to attend AS.

Mosquito menace in school

Mosquito menace in school

Dear Parents,

March-April is the time when school experiences maximum mosquito infestation in the premises as it is surrounded by lush green farms filled with stagnated water on all sides and due to temperature increase. As a school, we take precautionary measures but we cannot eliminate the menace completely.

We request all parents to take precautionary steps given below to keep their child away from mosquitoes:

  • Apply mosquito repellent (Odomos) every morning.
  • Use other modes of repellents like patches and roll on

Precautionary measures taken by school:

  • Daily fogging in open areas in the morning
  • Spraying insecticides at regular intervals
  • No stagnant water in school premises

In spite of taking care of all the points mentioned above, there still can be cases of mosquito/ insect bite to children who have sensitive skin or due to allergic reaction.
