Guest Speaker Sessions by Mr. Tenzin Tsundue

Guest Speaker Sessions by Mr. Tenzin Tsundue

Greetings,

Born to a Tibetan refugee family who laboured on India’s border roads around Manali, North India, during the chaotic era of Tibetan refugee resettlement in the early seventies, we introduce to you, Mr. Tenzin Tsundue, a writer-activist, a rare blend in the Tibetan community in exile. He published his first book of poems, Crossing the Border, in 1999 with money begged and borrowed from his classmates at Bombay University. In 2001 he won the ‘Outlook-Picador Award for Non-Fiction’. His second book, Kora, is already in its eighth edition, and his third title, Semshook, is in its third edition. This the third edition Tsen-GÖl, first published in March 2012.

After graduating from Madras, South India, he braved snowstorms and treacherous mountains, broke all rules and restrictions, crossed the Himalayas on foot and went into forbidden Tibet! The purpose? To see the situation of his occupied country and lend a hand to the freedom struggle. Arrested by China’s border police, and locked up in prison in Lhasa for three months, he was later ‘pushed back’ to India.

Find out more about him : https://www.tenzintsundue.com/about/

Goa Super Cup

Goa Super Cup

GOA SUPER CUP IS NEAR

Dear Parents

We are pleased to present you information about the Goa Super Cup – Season 6 (9 – 13 May 2019).

The GOA SUPER CUP (GSC) is India’s premier youth football tournament held annually in the state of Goa. The May 2019 edition will be the SIXTH edition of the GSC.

ABOUT GOA SUPER CUP: The GSC is organised by Football School of India (FSI). FSI is headquartered in Navi Mumbai & has over 22 training centres across India. The GSC’s organising committee includes the founders of FSI who are former India international players & are currently involved with India’s national teams in various capacities. The organising committee also includes heads & managers with more than 6 years of experience in organising & managing Indian teams on tours to more than one dozen annual youth tournaments in several European countries, which is the football hub of the world. With the combined experience of these committee members, the GSC has been designed to provide a safe, healthy, India-centric environment for budding Indian players to play in a high-quality youth tournament.

Importance: The GSC provides your child & his team the opportunity to compete in an inspiring atmosphere. The GSC brings together academy & school teams from different parts of the country as well as the Gulf countries. GSC attempt to ensure that teams from different regions will face each other at the group stages. At a young age, this can help your child to feel any difference in playing styles or natural attributes like physical structure, strength, agility, etc. of their opponents from other regions.

Thanks to the strong network of the GSC organising committee, scouts of various Indian teams are present at the tournament. This means that your child has the best chance of being noticed for his talent or potential & if lucky, a call-up to a bigger team or even the national team camp is possible!

As the GSC is set to expand in the coming years, we believe the participation & winning certificates from the GSC will gather more value. Apart from the football, your child will be having a lot of fun along with the learning with his team mates – it is Goa after all! Important lessons in team-work, social behaviour, self-discipline, hygiene will occur to the child & the 4 days away from parents will allow the players to know a little more about themselves; to grow as individuals. In effect, we will be contributing a little towards creating mentally & physically healthy youth for our nation.

  • Structure: The GSC will be held in following age-categories:-
Category Born in & After Match Format
Under 11 Boys 2008 7 v 7 (7 players + 4 substitutes; 1 coach) 15 mnts halves; 3 mnts half-time
